located at 250 Greenbank Rd in Ottawa Canada close to Huntclub in the Mall beside M&M Meats.

The Joy of Gluten Free is a wheat free, rye free, barley free commercial kitchen facility for baked goods and catering including bulk flours (soon to come), artisan bread, cakes, pastries and lunch items (soon to come).

The Joy of Gluten Free prepares fabulous food everybody loves. Founded on 6 years of intense recipe creation and research we vow to achieve the highest standards in both taste and nutrition. Tantalizing your senses and taste buds with fresh baked bread, crepes, cakes, buns, sweets and pastries all made on the premises. For cooks there is a selection of gluten free flours, pastas and gourmet items. If you thought gluten-free was just for those who needed it, we guarantee we'll change your mind about wanting it. With our open concept kitchen on site and our selection of food we hope that we truly will convert you over to a gluten free lifestyle filled with joy. We also have some selections for dairy free, egg free, vegan lifestyles.

We are a peanut free facility. We use almonds in some of our baking. We do not use soy oil or soy flour. We use hershey's chocolate and crystal lactose free margarine in some products; both these contain soy lecithin. We use "Only Oats" in some of our baked goods as clearly indicated in the store. Those baked goods (date squares, oatmeal cookies, apple crumble squares, chocolate macaroons) are therefore considered wheat free, rye free and barley free but not gluten-free. For information on allowable oats in a Celiac diet please refer to: http://www.celiac.ca/Articles/PABoats.html Current labeling laws in Canada prohibit the use of a gluten-free label on any oats.

Announcing our New Bakery!!!!!

250 Greenbank Rd. - close to Huntclub in the Mall where the Tim Hortons and the Metro is. We will be located right next to M&M Meat Shop. Did you catch us on "A" Chanel this morning? thejoyofglutenfree@gmail.com is our interum email for the moment as we are busily getting all the renovations done (and I thought a house was a big deal - 1500 square feet from the floors up). With a lot of help we are getting there and plan to be open just before Valentine's - Feb. 7th or so. Our hours will be Tues-Sat from 10am-6pm and Sunday from noon-5pm. Check out more photos and news updates on our facebook page: the Joy of Gluten Free. We will be looking forward to making you bread, crepes, muffins, buns, sandwiches, sweets, cakes, cookies, desserts, and meals once the bakery side of things gets up and running. For commercial inquiries please contact Susan at pce@magma.ca Thanks everyone for making this happen!
