With our open concept kitchen on site and our selection of food we hope that we truly will convert you over to a gluten free lifestyle filled with joy. We also have some selections for dairy free, egg free, vegan lifestyles.
We are a peanut free facility. We use almonds in some of our baking. We do not use soy oil or soy flour. We use hershey's chocolate and crystal lactose free margarine in some products; both these contain soy lecithin. We use "Only Oats" in some of our baked goods as clearly indicated in the store. Those baked goods (date squares, oatmeal cookies, apple crumble squares, chocolate macaroons) are therefore considered wheat free, rye free and barley free but not gluten-free. For information on allowable oats in a Celiac diet please refer to: http://www.celiac.ca/Articles/PABoats.html Current labeling laws in Canada prohibit the use of a gluten-free label on any oats.

Hi there! Do you sell gluten-free lasagna? (I tried your sorghum almond bread and it was excellent!)
Great breads and baked sweets. Your mini cheese-cupcakes are divine. I will be back!
I am really happy to have a Gluten Free bakery near by but I was very disappointed to read this in your blog: We use "Only Oats" in some of our baked goods as clearly indicated in the store. Those baked goods (date squares, oatmeal cookies, apple crumble squares, chocolate macaroons) are therefore considered wheat free, rye free and barley free but not gluten-free.......I expected that EVERYTHING in the store would be Gluten Free and have eaten your date squares, oatmeal cookies and macaroons not realizing that they made me sick....I didn't read that anywhere in the store but also didn't think I had to pay attention to that since your sign outside should say it all. I would recommend a BIG RED FLAG to indicate that. I also wonder why you don't use the Gluten Free oats?
labeling laws. did you know in Canada that wheat can be considered gluten free? As of August 4th, 2012 Canada says so. They also say that wheat free, rye free, and barley free oats can not be labeled gluten-free. But in the US, the same oats are labeled gluten-free. So more than anything it's a labeling issue. We provide wheat, rye and barley free goods. The Celiac association says that Celiacs can consume the wheat, rye and barley free oats with no issues. So that's what we use. Our brand of choice is "only oats". The labeling laws we leave up to the government. Unfortunately on all sides it's confusing. If you are looking to avoid wheat you will have to read labels to make sure the gluten free food in Canada does not have it. Hope this helps anonymous. Can't imagine why you'd be ill over the same oats that are labeled gluten free in the US - they're the same ones. Cheers, Susan
